We arrived at The Dolphin Apartments, Apollo Bay, around 9 pm, after a long drive from the Melbourne CBD. It was late and really dark, yet the lone receptionist was extremely cheerful and happy to show us to our hotel room. The apartment was much bigger than we expected, it was in great condition and extremely clean. We hope you enjoy reading the Dolphin Apartments, Apollo Bay, penthouse review.

Where to stay on the Great Ocean Road?
Our good friend from the United States of America, Jessica Kobeissi was visiting Australia for the first time. While she was here in Australia, Kayleigh and I wanted to take her for a drive down the Great Ocean Road and stay there for one night. After looking across Trip Advisor and on various booking sites, there wasn’t much left to book, but we managed to come across The Dolphin Apartments. This place came with free wifi, free parking and was a two bedroom penthouse with a view of the ocean. It was reasonably priced, split between us three, and another friend, it was within our budget.

Watching the sunrise from the balcony
The best part of our stay was getting up early to watch the sunrise from the balcony. Luckily for us, the sun rose above the water, directly in front of us. It was definitely a struggle to get up in the morning before 6 am, but after a few alarms and a few grunts, I was able to get up and watch the beautiful sunrise from the balcony. The colours in the sky were vibrant pinks and purples, they were well worth the early morning rise.

Who is the penthouse room for?
The penthouse room is a large apartment with two bedrooms, both with king beds, two bathrooms, a large open living room with a pull out sofa, a kitchen and a big balcony that looks on to the ocean. This apartment would suit larger groups of people looking to stay in Apollo Bay for a one to two-night stopover while heading down the Great Ocean Road. The apartment would also suit families or a group of four to six friends going away for the weekend.
We would highly recommend a stay at The Dolphin Apartments, Apollo Bay. Set in the beautiful beach town of Apollo Bay, along the world famous Great Ocean Road. An easy drive along one of the most scenic roads in the world and about an hour away from the main attraction, the Twelve Apostles.
